The SBA And CSBA Designations
 
3 Levels of Membership:
 
Associate Member
 
SBA Professional Designation
(Senior Business Analyst)
 
CSBA Professional Designation
(Certified Senior Business Analyst)
 
The SBA and CSBA designations are earned by members who undergo stringent and comprehensive training and testing in the areas of small business analysis which include but is not limited to:

We're glad that you asked!  There are three levels of membership within the Society of Business Analysts which are briefly described below:
 
Level 1:  Associate Membership
You will receive an attractive membership Certificate.  You will also receive monthly newsletters filled with information, educational monthly conference calls and additional educational opportunities.
 
Level 2:  Senior Business Analyst (SBA)
To earn the professional designation of SBA, you will be required to attend a SBA National Conference or complete a minimum of two (2) online Small Business Analysis training courses.  The training will equip you with the basics of business analysis which will provide knowledge and expertise to analyze and consult with prospects and clients.
 
Level 3:  Certified Senior Business Analyst (CSBA)
To earn the professional designation of CSBA, you will be required to attend a SBA National Conference and complete a minimum of four (4) online Small Business Analysis training or attend a SBA National Conference.  You will be provided with a list of courses that you may choose from that will qualify for the CSBA professional designation.
 
SBA and CSBA Continuing Education Requirement
Once you have successfully earned the SBA or CSBA professional designation, you will be required to enroll in a minimum of one (1) online Small Business Analysis annual update course or attend a SBA National Conference.
 
Both the SBA and CSBA professional designations require testing and achievement of a passing score of at least 70% with a demonstrated ability to analyze and consult on numerous business enhancement issues.  Then, and only then, will the member be awarded the professional designation of SBA or CSBA.

The CMEA Designation
 
The CMEA Designation is awarded by NEBB Institute, an industry leader in USPAP compliant  Machinery & Equipment Appraisals.
 
A CMEA undergoes comprehensive training on the approaches to value, depreciation, determining values, USPAP regulations and ethics.  A machinery and equipment appraisal submitted by a CMEA will withstand scrutiny by the IRS, courts, CPAs, and others.

The MEA Designation
Is NOT The Same As A Certified Machinery & Equipment Appraiser
 
Tthe professional designation of over 300 CMEA's (Certified Machinery & Equipment Appraiser) within the SBA Membership Directory should not be confused with a MEA professional designation behind a member's name.
 
A SBA member that displays the credential of  MEA  is NOT authorized nor trained to submit a USPAP compliant Certified Machinery & Equipment Report that is defensible and will hold up to scrutiny.  A MEA member is only authorized to analyze and consult concerning a machinery and equipment appraisal.he CMEA Designation is awarded by NEBB Institute, an industry leader in USPAP compliant  Machinery & Equipment Appraisals.
